What is the expected life cycle of the LiveO2 and LiveO2 AC systems?

We are up to five years and still counting with our original LiveO2 and ExtremeO2 systems with no failures.  If taken care of, the reservoir is capable of lasting even longer.  If for some reason you should damage your reservoir after it is out of its original one year ‘parts and labor’ warranty period, just give us a call and we can recommend a fix or have you send it in for repair.

The reservoir is built with durability in mind and our projection is that our systems are easily capable of producing consistent sessions over a 10 year life cycle.

As for the air separators, they are manufactured using a state of the art technology; the AirSep brand we now sell is well known and durable and built for continuous daily use. Usage of the air separators for a few hours a day or even 8 hours a day is still considered light duty. The industry standard for these units ranges from 25,000 to 30,000 hours for the unit before it will need any type of preventive maintenance.  In terms of usage this equates to 12,000 sessions for the 5 LPM systems (2-hour run time / session) and about 25,000 sessions for the 10 LPM units (1-hour run time / session). All AirSep air separators come with a 3 year warranty for ‘parts and labor’. If you experience any issues with your air separator during the warranty period, please contact us for instructions to have your unit serviced.

There is no maintenance for the AirSep 5L, it has a built in Hepa filter that is designed to be maintenance free for the life of the air separator.

For the modified 10L AirSep, there is an external filter that requires maintenance. There is a foam like filter on the back of the 10L AirSep units. Remove this filter and wash in warm water with mild soap. Allow filter to dry completely in the open air. Replace in AirSep unit before use. AirSep recommends cleaning the filter monthly. Depending on your household living conditions (pets, smokers, dust, etc) you may choose to clean your filter more often.
